Capacity Development in the field of S4D
**Capacity development (CD)** is a core task of development cooperation. German Development Cooperation (GIZ) understands CD as the development of the capability of people, organisations and societies to **manage resources effectively** and efficiently in order to realise their own goals on a sustainable basis (GIZ, 2015). CD should take place on three levels: **individually, organisationally and on societal** **level**.
