Mental health is a growing global concern, and Sport has emerged as a powerful tool for promoting resilience, emotional wellbeing, and social connection. This 90-minute interactive workshop will explore the science, strategies, and real-world applications of using sport as a vehicle for mental health promotion. Designed for coaches, practitioners, and professionals working at the intersection of sport, youth development, and mental health, the session will provide participants with: - A foundational understanding of mental health and its impact on individuals and communities. - Insights into the psychological and physiological benefits of physical activity, supported by research and MEAL data. - Practical guidance on designing and implementing sport-based mental health programs that are inclusive, safe, and culturally relevant. - Case studies and success stories demonstrating effective sport-for-mental-health interventions. - Opportunities for collaborative learning, discussion, and networking with experts and peers. Through interactive discussions, polling activities, and Q&A sessions, participants will leave with actionable strategies to integrate mental health awareness into their sports initiatives, fostering stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
